Amy Taklif is a disability advocate, licensed social worker, person with multiple sclerosis, and swell drinking buddy. She has been working, hanging and living with people with disabilities for over twenty years, and has written several papers on the subject of disability and sexuality. Amy holds a Master’s degree in social work from Rutgers University , and a Bachelor’s degree in social work from The City University of New York at the College of Staten Island. She is a Certified Brain Injury Specialist, and has spent a number of years working with folks who have brain injuries in various capacities. In addition, she has been a home health aide, a family support specialist, a program manager, a reader/writer for people with visual impairment, a direct care worker … and more recently, a client / patient / consumer (or go ahead and pick your own favorite euphemism for “disabled chick”). Amy lives in southeastern Pennsylvania, works in central New Jersey, and is a native of Staten Island, New York.
Joseph Wilson is a writer and marketing professional hailing originally from Philadelphia. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in journalism from Temple University’s School of Communications where he specialized in magazine features writing, graphic arts and photography. He’s worked as an editor, communications director for renowned academic institutions and as a print publications manager for advertising agencies and public relations firms alike. He is a published author of technical articles and trade journal catalogs. No slouch himself, when it comes to higher learning, Wilson also holds advanced credentials, a Master of Science degree in publishing management from Rochester Institute of Technology’s College of Imaging Arts and Sciences. (As far as the “science” bit goes….don’t take that too literally. He knows next to nothing about protons, differential equations or matters of chemistry not involving ale or uisge beatha.) He is a noted contributor to online forums with essays, satirical short stories and lampoonery of all kinds. He currently works as a marketing director for a government-funded nonprofit agency. Wilson enjoys a couple of unique hobbies that, respectively, involve: dressing in odd clothing, playing a very loud antique musical instrument...and ...wearing a red wool coat, wig, and buckled shoes while dodging musket fire and screaming “huzzah!” He pretends to sometimes either be a Scottish laird or an English aristocrat. If you’ve read this far, he’d very much like to meet you and buy you a pint.
Or vice versa.
